Little Rock 5K

Saturday, March 5 was a glorious day! Sure, it may have been a bit cold and rainy- but nothing could stop us from celebrating 6 months of recovery for our friend Elizabeth! About 50 people came to show their support either by running by Liz's side or cheering her on at the finish line.
Part of our group during the first mile.
Our fan club at mile 1. The group grew to almost 30 cheerleaders by the time the race was over!
There she is in all her beauty! Sorry for the blurriness... she was running so fast !
 Best friends.

Liz being silly. (sorry the video is sideways!)
 Sisters with their daddy.

 @ Mile One!
 Happy girl.

Our whole group after Liz completed the race! Thank you to all of you that joined us!
Afterwards we had brunch at Ihop. Liz and Jacob
 Friends
 More friends...
 And more friends!
I will leave you with this picture of Elizabeth crossing the finish line. Words cannot describe what it was like to see her not just walk... but RUN across the finish line! God is SO good. We are giving Him glory for her life. Elizabeth... we are so very, very proud of you!

Romans 5:3-4:
"More than that, we REJOICE in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces HOPE."

This was the verse that Elizabeth wanted printed on our shirts we had made for the 5K. She has several favorite verses... but this is her new life verse. She and her family have suffered, but are now able to crawl out of the valley they have been in with endurance, character and most of all hope. They will tell you that it is because they have had the true HOPE OF JESUS since the beginning.

Many of you that have followed this blog may be going through a time of suffering and Elizabeth and her family will tell you that without Jesus, there is no hope. Put your faith and trust in Him today.

Also, please pray for Elizabeth's friends that she has met along this journey that are still in the midst of their battle with a Traumatic Brain Injury:
Mark Webb has been moved to Baylor Rehab Institute in Dallas. You can read about his progress here
Bethany Cox is recovering at Shepherd Center in Atlanta GA. You can read about her progress here
