(( I was asked to post the following message STRAIGHT from Elizabeth! ))
Hello everyone! I want EACH and every one of you to know how thankful I am for you! This Thanksgiving is one that definitely overflows with blessings from above.
"Thank you, Lord for all the wonderful people reading this blog- for all the people who have diligently prayed for me and have portrayed an example of spiritual commitment. Lord, I especially want to thank you for my sweet friend, Heather. Thank you for her gentle, Christian spirit. Thank you for her deep love for you and enabling her to write this blog."
I am most grateful for my Lord and Savior. He has saved my life and has a purpose for it. I deeply appreciate all of you for lifting me up in prayer, praying without ceasing, and asking our Heavenly Father to help me every step of the way and having faith that HE can answer your prayers. I know that HE heard your fervent prayers.
Today was a great day! I showed my first house since the accident and that felt good. I am slowly getting back to the real world! However, I am having problems with coming to terms with the accident and my injury. I never thought it could happen to me. A friend sent me this quote and it really is true. “God never calls the able, He calls the Willing and makes them able”
I don’t think I could say THANK YOU enough, but I hope you all truly sense my sincere gratitude!! I do appreciate it and am overwhelmed with letters, food, cards, flowers prayers, etc! I am so grateful I am not alone. I am blessed by the abundance of people who care for my family and me. I am so grateful to my God.
I would like to ask you to pray for Mark. I don't know him personally, but he is in need of urgent prayers and a miracle. ( I of all people know that God is capable of performing a miracle!) Mark is active at New Life Church in Conway and had an accident Sunday night and has a brain injury. I don’t know him- but I ask that you pray that God will heal him.

ReplyDeleteThis post has brought me to tears each time I have read it!!! This thanksgiving I am one of the most thankful people on the planet! I am thankful for the AMAZING God we serve and his love, mercy, and grace he shows his children. I am thankful for the healing hand he had on Elizabeth, and the peace and strength he has given everyone involved (including myself) through this. I am thankful for Elizabeth's strong faith and amazing heart that she is willing to share with others and lead them to grow in their faith or become a brother or sister in christ with us. I am thankful for all of the lives changed, and the change that has been made in me. I love you sweet girl and have never been so proud of and amazed by anyone in my life! I look up to you more now than ever, thank you for always making a difference in my life and continuing to do that! Love you!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth-it is so good to hear a post from you. I always had faith that you would be ok. I don't know what it was, but I just knew your life was not finished and God had bigger plans for you. As you can tell, many people have turned their life over to the Lord or grow closer to him. I am one of those people. Your mom said if One life was changed from this tragedy, then it would be worth it. I think there was whole lot of changing that took place. I am honored to call you my sister.

ReplyDeleteElizabeth,
ReplyDeleteI knew the prayers would work, but was surprised how fast. The lord never ceases to amaze me. I am so happy that your getting back to the life you had-doing what you like. Stop by sometime and see what I've done to the house and bring your mom. I will pray for Mark.

I don't know you, and you don't know me, but stumbled upon your blog a few months ago and have been following your story, and lifting you through prayers.
ReplyDeleteThe internet can bring a lot of people together for prayer. I have also shared this site with friends and asked that they continue to pray for Elizabeth. I can tell E is such a beautiful person, inside and out, with a huge heart and a beautiful soul.
I have come across my own tribulations in the past few years, and slowly pushed God away. I am ashamed to say that when times got hard, I didn't turn to the God I have loved for 26 years, but to addiction and sin. I still struggle daily with this, but finding this blog was like God splashing cold water in my face to say "Snap out of it!". I am so inspired by the faith of Elizabeth and her family, and through your posts, I have come to realize that I am unhappy in life because I have pushed God out of it.
"Everything happens for a reason" is a quote I have grown to love and hate. I'm not trying to imply that Elizabeth was in her accident to save me, but I will say that me coming to this blog and reading about Elizabeth and starting to talk to God again to lift Elizabeth in prayer has led me to want to make major changes in my life. I hope to be half as Godly, strong, and optimistic as Elizabeth. I will continue to lift E in prayers, and I ask that you remember me in yours; a stranger in Arizona that has come to rededicate my life to Christ and come to realize what is truly important thanks to E's story. And to remember we are not promised tomorrow, and this day could be my last.
Please pray for my daily struggle with addiction, pray for strength and willpower and guidance as I try to live more like Elizabeth. Thank you so much for putting this out for people to read. It reaches more people than you think.
And to Elizabeth-thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for your uplifting spirit. And thank you for being a servant of God and sharing his love with everyone who has the privilege of hearing your story. Best of luck in your continuing recovery, and please know that even in your difficult times, someone (probably more than just me) has been touched by your story, and when things are difficult and you get to feeling down and depressed, know that you are doing God's will and because of this horrible accident, people are coming closer to God. Keep up the positive attitude, and know you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many people.
Wow... Elizabeth, you have touched so many with your faith! I just read the post above me and am overwhelmed with how God is using your story for His glory. I am so proud to know you!
ReplyDeleteJeff and I have been praying for you. I haven't been here in a week or so but saw on FB that you showed your first house today! And that you are going to Big Cedar Lodge for a much deserved getaway! I am overwhelmed by God's grace!
I too am praying for Mark. He is an awesome person who played football on Clayton's high school team. Before Clayton could drive, Mark drove Clayton home every day from practice. That saved me so much time in the car because I was already spending 1 1/2 driving the other guys. He was so kind to Clayton the lowly sophomore! He is a great guy with a huge prayer team behind him. I am encouraged by your progress to continue to pray for his, too!
Love you sweetie... have a great weekend!!!
Bev
