Hard Day... How you can help

Today was a hard day after a day of so many exciting things took place yesterday. Elizabeth never really opened her eyes or communicated to her family today. She just wasn't very responsive at all. No new concerns have come up.... we are just anxiously awaiting Elizabeth to wake up.  Doctors have prepared the family that this could take several weeks or months.  That bit of information has been hard for her loved ones to accept.

Today visitors were asked to "sign in" while the family had some alone time. Please know that just knowing that you are thinking of them speaks volumes. Please do not stop the visits, just understand that it may not be possible for you to speak to the family if they are having a rough time or are just tired. Family only is allowed to see Elizabeth, it has even been limited to one at a time.  She is very very critical still and does not need to be overstimulated.

Please pray. Elizabeth is still in a very desperate time.

PRAY. Pray for Elizabeth's responsiveness. Pray that she would at least be responsive to the doctors, nurses and her family when they try and get her to follow commands such as squeezing hands, wiggling toes, and signing "I love you."

PRAY. Pray for Bill, Michelle, Rachel, Billy, and Jacob. They are exhausted.  They have gone a whole week worrying for their baby girl.  They have watched her fight for her life, lay unconscious, not see her eyes all the way open, or hear her speak. They have seen her be in pain and are dealing with so many things that are unknown at this time.  They would normally would be celebrating Elizabeth's 24th birthday tomorrow, but instead are by her bedside while she remains in the ICU.

PRAISE. Praise God for His miracles and for those all over the nation who are praying for Elizabeth.

Thank you for being patient while we worked out most of the t-shirt details. The first batch of shirts will be ordered on Monday. Therefore your last time to make this order is tomorrow night, Sunday September 19th at 11:59 pm.  You will pre-pay for your shirt via the Pay Pal Link on the right side of this blog. You will need a debit or credit card. You will enter your size and address. If you want to order multiple shirts, you will need to do a seperate order for each one.

The tshirt design and color is still being decided on, which will ultimately decide on cost. They will have Elizabeth's favorite verse along with the phrase "Prayers for Elizabeth." They will definitely be gender neutral in design and color.  I will post a picture as soon as it is available.

We will receive an email when your payment has been received and will preorder you a shirt. We want to donate as much to the Parsley family as possible. Their family will receive approximately $12 for every t-shirt ordered ($20 minus the cost of the shirt ($8) and paypal fee ($.78)= approx. $12).  We are trying to avoid shipping shirts so as not to take away from what could go to this family. The shirts should be available by this weekend, and we plan to start distributing the last week of the month. We will have distribution sites in Conway, Little Rock, and Fayetteville. We will determine by the address that you list which site you will be assigned to pick up your shirts. Details as soon as shirts are received as to where you will pick up your shirt and when.

If you are absolutely unable to pick your shirt(s) up in Conway, Little Rock, or Fayetteville- please email Alex Hale at arhale@sbcglobal.net.  Let her know where you are located in the email. She will try and work out a way to get your order delivered for you or we will ship it. Please don't let the inability to pick up your shirt from one of these cities keep you from ordering, we just want to keep shipping to a minimum.

There is also a way to make a donation to the Parsley family. If you do not wish to order a shirt or wish to donate a different amount, please select the "Donate" button and you will be able to donate with your debit or credit card.  If you have any questions about anything regarding t-shirts, donations, or paypal, please send email to arhale@sbcglobal.net.  Bracelets are also being ordered today and should be available at the distribution sites for $5.

As a reminder, your prayers are the most valuable thing you can do for this family. It doesn't cost you a thing and is so desperately needed at this time. Remember you can mail cards or post notes of encouragement to this blog.

"Let them give thanks to the Lord for his love and the miracles he does for people."

  1. I am praying that God surrounds Elizabeth and her family during this time of need. I pray for the many doctors, nurses and whomever comes in contact with her and the family that they give them a peace of understanding. We are praying for a miracle that Elizabeth will wake up and she will be completely healed. Only God will know when that time will be ready for her. Keeping everyone in our daily prayers.
